This study focused on preoperatively predicting failure to achieve the minimal clinically important difference (MCID) and substantial clinical benefit (SCB) on the HOOS JR in patients undergoing a total hip arthroplasty (THA). Findings of this study call for attention to patients with preoperatively diagnosed mental-health disorders and raise further questions specific to the impact of race specific to care in patients undergoing a THA.
